As the peace boat the Golden Rule sailed by the Bangor Trident nuclear submarine base on Washington State’s Hood Canal on August 9, 2016, the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, musician Mike Stern told the story of this historic boat in his song, “The Ballad of the Golden Rule.” Video by Leonard Eiger

A presentation by Helen Jaccard -Golden Rule project manager and Gerry Condon -Golden Rule Committee President among others as part of the 2014 Pacific NW Voyage. As a Veterans for Peace “Weapon of Mass Education”, the boat is in the process of visiting 16 cities and participating in numerous anti-nuclear and peace actions on this tour. The video also features the short 2017 documentary film “Making Waves” about the history of the Golden Rule and Folk singer Mike Stern singing his song “Ballad of the Phoenix and the Golden Rule”.
