15 Mar March 2014 Update
The rudder has been hung on the transom using our home made gudgeons and the tiller has been attached. Drain scuppers have been cut out on the aft deck on both the port and starboard sides. They are currently being shaped and will be finished this week. Cabinet doors and a drawer are being fitted in the main cabin. A 16 inch oval port hole is in place in the aft bulkhead over what will be the galley. Gunnel caps are roughed out for around the aft deck and transom and will be shaped, routered and sanded soon. final bedding of the caps will be done after we’ve acquired cleats and chocks and they have been properly backed.
The Dutchman has made drawings of the companion way hatch and will start cutting out pieces this week. Steve Ninehaus has produced a list of required electronics, lights and wires and is negotiating with West Marine to possibly procure wholesale. Mike is applying the final coats of spar varnish to the third and last Trinidad skiff.

March has been an extremely busy month and a lot has been accomplished. We are still very much in need of semi skilled volunteers to work on individual projects. We have tools, materials and drawings needed and will guide anyone willing to donate some time and energy. Call me at 707 445 4790, leave a message and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
Congratulations go to Mr. Bill Pierson of Piersons Building Center for being awarded a genuine hand built Trinidad Skiff due to his very generous donation to our Indie gogo site. The skiff included oars, anchor and hand woven manila fender.
