Sacramento – The 31st Annual August Peace Event… IN JULY!

In 1958, four activists aboard the Golden Rule sailed to stop nuclear weapons testing in the Marshall Islands, but were arrested in Hawaii and later the boat was damaged. The Golden Rule, restored by Veterans For Peace in Northern California, will stop in Sacramento on its journey down the California coast to halt the renewed nuclear arms race and alert the public about steps to nuclear disarmament. Come and hear about current negotiations in the United Nations for a treaty to ban nuclear weapons!
In lieu of the usual August commemoration of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this free event will raise funds to help the Golden Rule on its journey. Donations (tax-deductible) should be made to VFP Golden Rule Project and brought to the event or mailed to PO Box 87, Samoa, CA 95564.
