20 Apr Deported US Veterans to sail on the Golden Rule in Ensenada, Mexico
The Golden Rule is on the way to Ensenada!
A group of US military veterans who have been deported have formed a chapter of Veterans For Peace – and they are coming down from Tijuana to sail on the Golden Rule Sunday April 21 and Monday April 22.
This is a rare opportunity for the group to relax and enjoy a peaceful, healing trip on the water.
The voyage to Ensenada is also a sea trial for the Golden Rule and her crew.
Crew members C Be, Tom Rogers, Jamie Skinner, Captain Dan Lappala and Chris Mayer celebrated Jamie’s birthday together after a long day of preparing the Golden Rule to sail to Ensenada.
At 12:50 am (technically Saturday), we got a text from Tom: Good morning Helen, Golden Rule underway at 0040😎😎😎😎
Now, at 7:50 am, they are past Rosarita going over 6 knots, which should put them in to Ensenada at around 5 pm.
Gerry Condon, National President of Veterans For Peace (owners of the Golden Rule) and Project Manager Helen Jaccard are driving down to meet them.
The US Veterans who have been deported are very excited about sailing on the Golden Rule tomorrow and Monday!
